Cookie policy

In short

Pricelens’s own cookies only keep you signed in and protect your account. Our pages also show ads from Google AdSense, and Google sets its own advertising cookies to choose and measure them. A few settings and an anonymous statistics ID are kept in your browser’s local storage.

Cookies

• pl_at: keeps you signed in. Set when you sign in, lasts 15 minutes and is renewed while you use the site. Scripts on the page cannot read it.
• pl_rt: renews your sign-in. Lasts 7 days and is sent only to the sign-in service. Scripts on the page cannot read it.
• pl_csrf: protects your account against forged requests from other sites. Lasts as long as your sign-in.

All three are needed for signing in and are removed when you sign out. Without an account, Pricelens sets no cookies.

Browser storage

• pl-theme: whether you chose the light or dark theme.
• pl-guest-watchlist: products you saved before signing in, so they can move into your account.
• pl_vid and pl_sid: random IDs that let us count visitors and visits without knowing who you are. They are not linked to your account, and we do not store your IP address with them.

If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we do not count your page views at all.

Other sites

Ads are served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies (such as IDE, __gads and __gpi) to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites, limit how often you see an ad, and count clicks. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first. You can turn personalised ads off at https://adssettings.google.com; details are at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Product images load from the stores’ image servers. Share buttons are plain links: nothing from Facebook or WhatsApp loads until you press one. When you click through to a store, that store’s cookies and policies apply.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Blocking the three cookies above means you cannot sign in; blocking Google’s cookies only makes the ads less personal. Everything else on Pricelens keeps working.
